Dreamer Fund's Undocumented Law Student Scholarship benefit party $10

Join the Dreamer Fund in celebration of the resilience of undocumented and immigrant communities, through the dance narratives of cultures from across the globe. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser event will go to the Dreamer Fund's Undocumented Law Student Scholarship, which assists students with tuition and emergency aid throughout the school year. Dance Performances by: Shabbal - Shabbal is a dance group dedicated to the expression, appreciation and preservation of Sudanese Dance, Music and Culture. Duniya Dance and Drum Company-Formed in 2007, Duniya Dance & Drum Company creates dance and music from Punjab, India, and Guinea, West Africa, as well as unique blends of these forms and beyond. The word duniya means “world” in a wide array of languages, including Punjabi, Arabic, Susu and Wolof. Duniya’s work embodies this word, as it explores the forces that have brought together the members of the company and their dance and drum styles, including, but not limited to, colonization, globalization, immigration, art, dance, music and love. Our mission is to cultivate respect for traditional forms, foster cultural exchange, effect social justice and engage in community building, Duniya performs and teaches traditional and innovative performance pieces from Guinea, West Africa and Punjab, India. Under the artistic directorship of Maestro Arturo Magaña, EFC has the mission to promote the pride of identifying as an LGBTQ Latinx through the art of Mexican folklórico dance. Our mission also seeks to preserve our costumes and traditions through cultural and educational projects as well as staged performances. EFC was created on November 2015 as an artistic program of *Colectivo ALA. It was the vision of Arturo Magaña to create a unique folklorico group where the LGBTQ Community would have the creative platform to express and validate our sexual and cultural identity. * Colectivo ALA is a social and support group for non-hetero conforming Latinx in San Jose CA Mariam- Mariam is a dancer and poet from Colombia. She loves all traditional and folkloric dancing, but especially enjoys Salsa and Arabic Belly Dance. DJS Sets by Amor Digital Collective- A Central American DJ Collective + Platform with an emphasis on reggaeton + club culture Food by : Tacos el precioso from Oakland
